Let's not bother beating around the bush, there is no "wrong" way to travel.

It's a topic which sometimes leaves me considering unfollowing most travel writers and bloggers around the web altogether. I'm so tired of the prescriptive travel advice out there which tells you that you must "travel like a local" or "travel solo" because otherwise you're "just a tourist." How To: Plan a Multi-Week Itinerary

When it comes to planning a multi-week itinerary for a trip - I'm in my element. 

I love planning and organizing. And yes, you may call me type A. So by extension this post is really meant for those of you that are also type A or for some reason want to be. By no means, is this the only way to plan an itinerary - it's just the way that works for me! My version of itinerary planning involves some level of certainty. The bottom line is that I like to know where I'm sleeping every night.

Travel Plans for Summer 2012

A few of my favorite travel bloggers have been posting about their summer plans and it was so fun to read about where they're going that I thought I would join them and post about my upcoming adventures.

This summer, I've got a pretty good line up of out of state trips that will keep me mighty busy. Each month I'm in the air at least 4 times for both personal and work travel. The list below is only includes the "booked" travel - so it doesn't include the camping trips around the Pacific Northwest and Canada that I'm hoping to take. Although, due to the already heavy travel schedule through September - those may get pushed to early Fall instad.

One of the reasons I started Gluten Free Travelette in early 2010 was because my new day job promised a significant amount of travel and I wanted to share all of my great gluten free finds with other travelers searching for a safe meal. Over time I've realized that I have a whole lot more  than just restaurant finds to share - and after all, this site is called Gluten Free Travelette for a reason.
